Several groups representing the core of Jewish life in the region established the Foundation for the Charlotte Jewish Community in 1997. The mission of the Foundation is to advance philanthropy through education and to raise permanent charitable resources to strengthen and sustain the quality of Jewish life in the greater Charlotte area. The Foundation is comprised of 86 funds established by individuals, families and its representative organizations with total assets of over $40 million.
