Author Jenna Blum dazzles audience at Spring Lecture
The Tenth Annual Spring Lecture sponsored by the Women's Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte was held on April 3 and featured Jenna Blum as the guest speaker. The event was co-chaired by Ellyn Gross and Lauren Weiser and a very talented and dedicated committee. SPEAKER IGNITES COMMUNITY AT 2008 MAIN EVENT
Author and former Middle East television news anchor Brigitte Gabriel was the guest speaker at the 2008 Main Event for the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte. Chaired by Stacey and Ira Slomka, the event served as the kick off in our efforts to raise $3,180,000 for the 2008 Annual Campaign.
Gabriel, a Christian Arab, is the founder of the American Congress for Truth, a non-profit organization dedicated to motivating Americans to take action against terrorism. Her speech focused on the humanitarian qualities of Israel who rescued her family and other Christians for the Jihad in civil war torn Lebanon. She discussed the threat of radical Islam to world peace and national security. She encouraged everyone to get involved, support the Jewish Federation and the community and make a difference. The 500 plus attendees presented her with a standing ovation.
