The Stan Greenspon Center is looking forward to our inaugural Combating Hate Charlotte Symposium and Upstander Award Program in January 29, 2023 in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. We aim to give the community the skills and resources to combat hate with actions advocating human rights. We will reflect on the struggles and successes we have faced as diverse communities and celebrate the successful work of the Stan Greenspon Center community.

The day will open with a keynote address and will include workshops addressing the contemporary issues of antisemitism, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and hate aimed at those with disabilities. The event will conclude with a “Celebrating the Journey and Upstander Award Program,” a musical event narrating the highlights and struggles of the 78-year journey from the liberation of Auschwitz to today utilizing grassroots artists. The Symposium will conclude with a wine and cheese reception.
