The Jewish Community Center's primary purposes are to promote Jewish cultures, perpetuate the Jewish heritage, foster Jewish values, nurture positive Jewish identity and help the individuals develop creatively as a person, as a Jew and as an American.  Further, the Center seeks to support and strengthen and family as a source of Jewish continuity, reach out to those with special needs and challenges, and to forge close ties with the people and the State of Israel.

To accomplish these goals, the Jewish Community Center offers a multitude of programs in Jewish culture and education, health education and recreation, Jewish camping, social group work and informal lifelong education.

Some features include indoor and outdoor pools, a gymnasium, a state of the art fitness center, running tracks, six outdoor tennis courts, two racquetball courts, a health club, ceramic and art studios.  Some programs include children's after school care, adult classes, concerts and lectures, youth and adult athletic leagues, fitness and aerobics activities, parenting seminars, program for Jewish living and The Mindy Ellen Levine Day Camp at the Levine Jewish Community Center (Anna Gunsher: 704 944-6729).
