Gather to remember those who perished in the Holocaust and honor those whose lives were forever changed: survivors, liberators, their descendants, and each of us. Through ritual, testimony, and music, we join together as a community to lift up their stories.
Including "Intonations" a dramatic cycle of songs, each of which intones a specific story from the book Violins of Hope, told from the perspective of the violin. The performance will include a solo violinist and a singer, accompanied by a string orchestra, composed of students from UNC Charlotte, Queens University, and Central Piedmont Community College.
